International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two-year educational programme primarily offered to students who are transferring to grade 11. IB DP graduates acquire excellent breadth and depth of subject knowledge, which guarantees the successful completion of the programme and provides the students with a solid advantage for university studies and life beyond.
IB DP assists the students to develop their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills which are crucial to adapting to a fast-changing world. DP students gain the ability to make cross-subject connections and apply knowledge when solving real-life problems. Moreover, DP graduates grow into open-minded and tolerant individuals, who appreciate cultural diversity and respect a range of points of view.
About the curriculum
The Diploma Programme curriculum is made up of six subject groups enclosing central CORE:

- Sciences
- Mathematics
- The arts
IB DP CORE:
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
- Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
- Extended Essay
Students have the flexibility to select 6 subjects depending on their interests and future career preferences. The following subjects are offered at Newton Free School:

- Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL – Mathematics
In order to meet IBO diploma requirements, students have to choose one subject from each of the six subject groups. Usually, three subjects are taken at Higher Level and three others are taken at Standard Level. The levels of the subjects offered at Newton Free School are given below:

Admission
IB DP admission is announced every March for the students who are transferring to Grade 11.
The admission procedure consists of the following steps:
- Submission of a complete application form
- Entrance examinations in Mathematics and English
- Academic transcript from previous educational institutions
- Interview
Promptly after filling in the application form, an applicant is notified about the place/date of the examinations. Examination results are sent to the applicants via email.
IB DP coordinator contacts the applicants to arrange interviews. Applicant interviews are assessed according to the following criteria:
- Detecting and generalizing crucial ideas, concepts, and notions
- Stating problem-solving strategies
- Making conclusions based on the discussion
- Evaluation/Reflection
- Motivation
- Communication Skills
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is 5,500 euros per year. Every applicant has an opportunity to get a Newton Free School scholarship. The scholarship amount is determined by the results of the entrance examinations and the interview.
